The Project

Treleigh is a self-sufficient eco-home with a core formed of crushed recycled pallets. Rain water collected in the outdoor swimming pond is gathered and filtered to provide water for the WCs and showers. Steam generated from the indoor swimming pool and hot tub is dispersed through the house to provide heating. And electricity is generated from the solar panels on the south elevation.

Triple glazed windows, premium insulation and an excellent air permeability rating further reduce energy consumption. Designed by the late, great Barrie Briscoe to look like a Stealth Bomber, Treleigh is a truly unique, sustainable home that features a cinema, sauna, art room and snug. Its concepts, materials and science made it a very interesting project to be part of.
